MINING PLANNING

By formulating a comprehensive mining plan that addresses these key aspects, Gisande aims to conduct mining operations responsibly, sustainably, and in alignment with its business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Resource Assessment

Gisande begins by conducting a thorough assessment of mineral resources in the targeted regions, including the Western and Eastern Provinces of Rwanda. This involves geological surveys, sampling, and analysis to identify the quantity, quality, and distribution of mineral deposits.

Site Selection

Based on the resource assessment, Gisande selects specific sites within the target regions for mining operations. Factors such as geological characteristics, accessibility, infrastructure availability, and environmental considerations are taken into account during site selection.

Mining Methodology

Gisande determines the most appropriate mining methods for each selected site based on geological conditions, deposit depth, ore characteristics, and environmental impact assessments. Common mining methods may include open-pit mining, underground mining, or a combination of both, depending on the nature of the mineral deposits.

Infrastructure Development

Gisande plans and develops the necessary infrastructure to support mining operations, including access roads, utilities (such as water and power supply), processing plants, and waste management facilities. Infrastructure development is crucial for optimizing operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Environmental Management

Gisande integrates environmental management practices into its mining plan to minimize the impact of mining activities on the surrounding ecosystems. This includes implementing measures for land rehabilitation, water management, air quality control, and biodiversity conservation, as well as compliance with environmental regulations.

Safety Protocols

Gisande prioritizes the safety and well-being of its workers by implementing comprehensive safety protocols and procedures. This includes providing training on safe mining practices, conducting regular safety inspections, and equipping workers with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to mitigate occupational hazards.

Community Engagement

Gisande recognizes the importance of engaging with local communities and stakeholders throughout the mining process. This involves consulting with community members, addressing their concerns and grievances, and fostering positive relationships through transparent communication, socio-economic development initiatives, and opportunities for local employment and procurement.

Regulatory Compliance

Gisande ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and permits governing mining operations in Rwanda. This includes obtaining licenses, permits, and environmental approvals from government authorities, as well as adhering to national laws and regulations pertaining to mining, environmental protection, labor standards, and community relations.
